PEGE informs about conversions from the fast being more expensive gasoline to electric power, the fuel of our future plug-in hybrid cars. Video (12,7 MB).
Maybe You do not know it, because You are only used to miles per gallon, but at fast increasing gasoline prices, it's important to know it to compare with a new generation of cars able to drive with electric power. Gasoline can be converted in combined cycle power plants with 58% efficiency into electric power. A medium sized plug-in-hybrid car achieves 4 miles per kWh while an average gasoline car achieves only 1 mile per kWh.

As long as it's not possible to buy a plug-in hybrid car, I use my electric scooter as much as possible to avoid driving with expensive gasoline or diesel.
My electric scooter achieves 12 miles per kWh or 234 miles per gallon.
