Electric car main problem: Typical use profile
The electric car will succeed only if 90% of today's car drivers are
able to do 99% of the things they do with their cars already.
A typical every day usage on the way to the office:
- The car parks at home and is 100% charged.
- 10 km driving to the next highway reduces energy storage to 80%
- 20 km on the highway recharges energy storage to 90%
- 15 km to the target reduces energy storage to 75%
- The car parks at the target and becomes 100% recharged.
A typical usage for a long distance vacation travel:
- The car parks at home and is 100% charged.
- 10 km driving to the next highway reduces energy storage to 80%
- 1000 km on the highway recharges energy storage to 100%
- 30 km to the target reduces energy storage to 60%
- The car parks at the target and becomes 100% recharged.
If any point of a travel has no more than 50 km distance to the next
energy track equipped highway, the energy strorage of the electric
car has only to be for 50 km range.
Even a new super battery with 200 km range would be the hell at
a long distance vacation travel. Most people use their car for
long distance vacation travels. Their needs can be only satisfied
with the energy track system or a normal car with enough energy
for 1000 km in the tank. |
